Along the way Steve has achieved many significant highlights in his musical journey. In later years 1988 he was fortunate again to travel to the UK playing with the Preston Band (now Darebin Band) which included participating in the prestigious Edinburgh Festival Invitation Contest.

From 1990-96 Steve was employed as a Brass music specialist with the Education Department of Victorian & Ivanhoe Grammar.

Currently Steve is Principal Tuba with Kew Band Melbourne under the musical directorship of his brother Mark Ford.
